-------------------------------------------------------- Installation of New Commander - Queen's Club Garden Party (Oct 09) Kermit Sean Claytor, KGSJ, was installed as the new Commander of the Commandery of St. Francis at a ceremony
held at the annual summer garden party organized by the Queen's Club. The Queen's Club is a San Francisco Bay Area based group
comprised of former officers of the Great Britain and Allied nations. The Queen's Club's adopted charity is The Not Forgotten
Association, a British based charity working on behalf of disabled veterans. The Commandery of St. Francis and the Queen's
Club share a long history of cooperation together and share many common members, including Rear Admiral Jud Scott, USNR (Ret.)
who graciously hosted the event with his wife Ildiko. The installation was presided over by Rev. Shepherd Jenks, KSJ, who
in an earlier career was the navigator aboard the nuclear submarine USS Nautilus, first ship to reach the North Pole.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- National Center for Equine Facilitated Therapy (Sept
09) On behalf of the Commandery of St. Francis, Commander
Kermit S. Claytor, KGSJ, presents a dedication plaque to the Chairman of the NCEFT Board of Directors, Dr. Casey Terribilini.
The plaque was presented at NCEFT's annual fund raising gala, which was appropriately given a Western theme. The plaque will
be displayed in the new NCEFT Treatment room, which was recently completed with the help of the Commandery of St. Francis.
A total of $13,000 was pledged to NCEFT by the Commandery. The new treatment facilities greatly increase the range of services
possible as part of NCEFT's "Horses for Heroes" program, which operates in conjunction with the Veteran's Administration
Poly-Trauma Unit at the VA Hospital in Palo Alto California. Through Horse for Heroes, injured veterans receive physical therapy
through adaptive riding programs, which promotes balance, motor control and coordination in patients with brain or spinal
injuries or amputations.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Donation to The Pathway Home On behalf of the Commandery, John Cimral and his wife, Laura Schwerin, presented a $15,000 donation
to The Pathway Home in Napa on December 22nd, 2008.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Veterans' Day Cruise on the USS Potomac At
the 11th hour, on 11th day, of the 11th month, the Knights of the Commandery and guests join President F.D.Roosevelt
on the USS Potomac for a Remembrance Day cruise.
