Membership in the Order is strictly “by invitation only.” Members of the Order
have distinguished themselves in charitable service and are recommended for the accolade of knighthood by their peers.
Regular, solemn,
ceremonies of Investiture are held at which new Aspirants receive the accolade of knighthood and are admitted as a Knight
or Dame of Honor.
The
Commandery holds frequent informal gatherings and outings to have fun and to maintain the friendships and bonds of the group.
Spouses and guests are welcome at all these events.
Each Commandery selects its own charities to support. The Commandery of St. Francis, comprised
largely of former Officers of the United States and allies’ Armed Services, currently supports the cause of California’s
wounded service veterans.
